Quilted Desires

Someone once asked me, "do you find giving up easy or hard," and I thought about it for a minute and replied saying, "it's the easiest thing ever, but it gets hard when you're really passionate or love whatever it is." Chasing our dreams or pursuing what our heart desires can be so challenging and at times discouraging. We live in a world where you are either out or in and being in between doesn't feel very good.
But one important thing that I've learned about this whole "following your desires business," is that it begins to break all these negative notions about yourself (that you or others have labeled yourself as) and it forces/pushes you to be the person God has always intended you to be. But the treasure is hidden in this...
HOW BAD DO YOU WANT IT?
How bad do you want to become a teacher, or have your own business, or be financially stable? What are you willing to do to make it? Are you willing to nurture and protect your dreams until they are ready to be born? Are you committed to this, do you believe in YOU?
We're so caught up in thinking that we're not good enough or capable, that we can't fully answer these questions. Or we lie our way to believe that we can but our fears don't allow us to act. The word of God states, "but whatever comes out of the mouth comes from the heart." So what are you saying about yourself? How do you see yourself when no-one else is around?
Are you constantly picking out your flaws and comparing yourself to others? Because what your heart believes of yourself will become the truth in your mind and your life will model that. Are you believing garbage or God's truth about you?
Because when He saw all that He had made, He said it was VERY GOOD.
Not just good, or okay, or nice, but very good. Quit doubting yourself and begin chasing your own dreams. Because when God gives you the desires of your heart, He firsts places them there already knowing you are capable, qualified, and equipped to do it.
